HomeSchoolEd is a full-stack, mobile-first, installable Progressive Web App for homeschool families. Parents build flexible weekly curriculum schedules, track student progress across subjects, generate transcripts and college-readiness packets, and collaborate with co-teachers and supervisors, all from a single app that works on phones first and installs to the home screen.
HomeSchoolEd was built in 2 hours at the Miro + Replit Hackathon during SXSW 2026 with Marisa Perryman, a homeschool parent who, like thousands of others, is constantly being asked to *prove* the work her kids are doing. Homeschool families know their students are learning, but when it comes time for college applications, dual-enrollment, or just a year-end portfolio, that learning is scattered across notebooks, photos, group chats, printed worksheets, and three different scheduling apps. Marisa came to the hackathon with the lived problem; we built the tool she wished she'd had for the last decade.
From there it generalized: homeschooling has exploded, but the software hasn't kept up. Most "homeschool planners" are either spreadsheets in disguise or rigid LMSes designed for classrooms. HomeSchoolEd is built around how homeschool actually works: flexible week-by-week scheduling that survives a sick day or an unexpected field trip, multi-role accounts (parent / student / supervisor) that respect a homeschool co-op, and a documentation layer designed from day one for the moment a college admissions officer asks "what did this student actually do?"
